The human behind the pixels....

Hey Stranger πŸ‘‹

I’m Joana β€” a UI/UX designer based in sunny (well, sometimes πŸ˜…) Porto, Portugal. My career started as a Graphic Designer but through a transformation (that is still in progress) I moved from designing physical things to digital ones.

I studied at the well-known Γ‰CAL in Lausanne, Switzerland and after a few years dabbling with Graphic Design and revitalising an old family business, I’m now working to make pixels more human. As a UX designer my core interest is in the user β€” creating empathy to discover more about the people I’ll be designing a product for, building relationships and then designing experiences that attempt the fine balance between being pleasant and extremely usable and intuitive.

I value relationships and feedback β€” that’s how I thrive and evolve. Maybe (just maybe) because of my many years in Switzerland, I think my style reflects some of its principles: clear, modern, typographic.

My big passions are travelling around the world, meeting new people (and taking a ton of inspiration, colors, shapes and patterns home) and dance ( I used to do ballet in another-life).

Besides that, my other big passion is my lovely furry best-friend named after one of my favorite places in the world β€” Bali! 😻

I’d like to think I’m a dreamer and an extremely resilient person, but that’s for someone else to judge. Maybe you? Nice to meet you β€” let’s talk.
